Spellathon - Bringing Fun to Spelling
Raise money for charity whilst playing a great, interactive spelling game with fabulous prizes on offer.
With so many activities available for children, deciding how to keep them entertained whilst ensuring they are learning at the same time can be difficult. We have the perfect solution for you – a fun and interactive great game which makes spelling fun!

Spellathon is a free, online sponsored spelling competition to make spelling fun for primary and secondary school children in the UK. Every school that signs up gives their pupils the chance to improve their spelling, has access to fun and interactive online games, can win prizes and can raise lots of sponsorship money to support people with a learning disability. Schools can also get back 25% of what their pupils raise.
Pupils compete to spell the most words correctly. They can take part by playing fun and interactive spelling games – with animated bees voiced by Stephen Fry and Jodie Whittaker.
Pupils pledge to spell a target number of words. As they play the games and practice their spelling, they ask friends and family to sponsor them – for example per correct word or set of words, or by making a donation to Mencap for their efforts.
Schools who register can access many free resources to teach, fundraise and promote their efforts. Free resources include a whiteboard game, introduction video for assemblies, letters for parents, pledge target word slip and many more!
The school raising the most funds per participating student wins an amazing £10,000 which has been kindly donated by Digital Giving Ltd. There are other fantastic prizes too!
Play, compete and fundraise online for free – get your school involved!
